About Marieke
Marieke Boorman
Marieke has long dreamed of creating non-judgmental spaces to facilitate workshops highlighting the importance of creativity in our lives. She received formal training through The Institute for Women Centered Coaching, Training & Leadership, completing the Professional Program in Facilitation in 2020 and the Coaching Program in 2021. In 2025 she received certification as a Fascial Manoever Coach from Human Garage. Marieke has experienced the joy and satisfaction of bringing people together in community. When we work together rather than in competition we generate limitless possibilities.
Marieke furthered her training in mindfulness and leadership via the Sounds True Inner MBA program for two cohorts, 2024 and 2025. More recently she has deepened her study of the Shadow of the psyche via the study of Gene Keys and Karla McLaren’s Language of Emotions, among others.
More than a decade ago, Marieke founded an after-school and summer art enrichment program for children which led to creative programs for teens and adults. She developed her “Allowing Art” mindful art workshops for adults in 2020. With a partner, Lauren Black, Marieke founded ArtAtWorkLA in 2022 to bring creative workshops into boardrooms.
Marieke holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of Toronto, with additional coursework in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.
“This was my first time ever to participate in any kind of art class. Since that first one, I felt such encouragement and enthusiasm to paint. Marieke, just being her own generous self, brought out the side of me that I had forgotten about since my childhood. I wish there would be more people like her in our world. Since that first class, I’ve been painting consistently.”
